EDINBURGH, UNITED KINGDOM (CCTV/CNN) - Chinese panda "Tian Tian," or "Sweetie," who is living in Edinburgh, has won first place in a ballot of the most popular pandas outside China.
The ballot result was revealed by Atlanta Zoo in the United States on Friday. Tian Tian came out on top by winning 19 percent of the vote. Her partner "Yang Guang," or "Sunshine," won second place in the same ballot last year.
According to Edinburgh Zoo's press release, this is actually the second prize won by Tian Tian. In 2011, she was elected by BBC viewers as one of the 12 female faces of 2011.
The two giant pandas, which are the only pandas in the UK, arrived from China in 2011 on a 10-year loan.
