HARRISON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - What started as a call to a possible auto accident led Harrison County authorities to a drug bust Thursday night.

According to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office, two officers with the Hallsville Police Department responded to a 911 call about a possible wreck on Highway 80, just west of the Hallsville city limits. Harrison County deputies were dispatched to the scene of the possible accident to assist Hallsville PD.

When deputies arrived they found that the Hallsville officers had allegedly removed multiple illegal items from a vehicle occupied by 30-year-old Anthony Demon Howard. Howard was arrested for possession of marijuana under 2 oz., theft of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a controlled substance over four grams and under 200 grams.

Howard was taken to the Harrison County Jail. His bond has been set at $61,500.
