Fairview lockdown lifted; school buses running later than normal
FAIRVIEW, TN (WSMV) -
School buses from Fairview schools are running later than normal Wednesday afternoon following a brief lockdown due to apolice matter unrelated to the schools.
A spokesperson for Williamson County Schools said Fairview middle and high schools were placed on lockdown after an incident that occurred on the road in front of the middle school.
Law enforcement was called to the scene to investigate and asked that the schools be placed on a temporary lockdown as a precaution.
The schools have now been given permission to dismiss students, so buses will be running up to one hour late. This also means students at Fairview Elementary and Westwood Elementary schools will be late getting home from school, the district said.
Other details on the incident that prompted the lockdown hasn't been released.
