SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police have released surveillance video in their search for suspects in the 2 armed robberies of the same dollar store on Line Avenue Thursday this week.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. at the Dollar General in the 8100 block of Line Avenue. Witnesses told police the men were wearing Darth Vader masks when they went into the store armed with handguns and confronted an employee, demanding money before running off with the cash.

There were no reports of any injuries. The search, with includes an SPD K9 unit, is ongoing.

Shreveport Police Department Cpl. Marcus Hines says the same store was also held up on Monday.

Investigators are working to determine whether the two robberies are connected. In that case, Hines says it was a sole suspect who entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money.

Investigators are still working to identify the suspect involved in that robbery as well as recover surveillance video footage from the business. Anyone who has any information regarding either crime is urged to call Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or visit their website at www.lockemup.org
