BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

George Strait will kick off the final leg of his farewell tour with Jason Aldean in Bossier City Thursday. He's been called "The King of Country," and if ticket sales are any indication, the ArkLaTex agrees.

Century Link Center Marketing Director Jake Wood says tickets for the concert sold out in just 45 minutes when they went on sale November 8. "This concert is a big deal because George is officially retiring from touring his events," said Wood.

Although tickets are sold out, Wood says the phones at the Century Link Center have been ringing non-stop all week with people looking for tickets and not taking no for an answer. "We've got a lot of folks who think we can just find tickets, but we are completely sold out."

Crews usually show up the day of the concert to set the stage, Wood says, but on Wednesday, Strait's crew was already setting up everything from lights to the backstage area a full day early. "I believe they are introducing some new elements on this tour, since it is the last part," he said.

Aside from the new elements, Wood said the crew may also be taking time to prepare for the show opener performance. "He's going to kick it off with Jason Aldean of all people! Jason Aldean sold out a concert here in early 2013, so you have a guy who headlined and sold out a show and is now opening for the King of Country Music right here in Bossier City," he said.

Wood is excited the city gets to be a part of celebrating Strait's career, which began in 1981 and includes 59 number one hit singles, the most of any musician. Strait also holds the record for most number one, gold, platinum, and multi platinum albums.

If you are one of the lucky ones with tickets, doors will open at 6 p.m. on Thursday. That gives fans a full hour and a half to get seated before the concert starts.

The Bossier City Police Department is warning you to plan accordingly if you are going to the George Strait concert Thursday night.

Drivers who aren't going to the concert should use Barksdale Boulevard, and avoid Arthur Ray Teague Parkway by the Century link Center.

If you're dropping someone off at the concert, police advise you to use the circular drive in front of the center's main entrance.

Bossier City Police Officers will be there to assist with traffic control.
