Teen injured in N. Shreveport shooting

Police are investigating a shooting that injured a 16-year-old male Friday evening in north Shreveport.

Police say it happened in the 2100 block of Grimmett Dr. around 6:30 p.m. The teen told officers it happened as he was walking along a trail behind the Grimmett Drive apartments to his girlfriend's house. He told police that two men approached him and began shooting at him for "unknown reasons" before fleeing the scene.

The teen was shot in the leg and taken to University Health Shreveport. He is expected to survive.

The descriptions provided by the teen by police are insufficient to be published, as the are not specific enough to narrow down suspects.

Police say there were no witnesses on the scene of the shooting, and that they are seeking to identify and apprehend those responsible for the shooting.
