Arizona and Boston College look to lean on their "backs"

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Preparation for Tuesday's Advocare v100 Bowl continued on Saturday, as Arizona got in its first practice this morning at Calvary Baptist. The headliner since this year's teams were announced was the running back match up between Boston College's Andre Williams and Arizona's Ka'Deem Carey.

Carey finished 6th in the nation in rushing and added 17 touchdowns. He along with his quarterback B.J Denker, felt like Carey was snubbed for this year's Doak Walker award which went to Williams.

Carey says he just recently met Williams which is a good thing because if he hadn't, things probably wouldn't have gone right at Friday's game show event.

In a very tongue-in-cheek moment Carey says,"I probably would have hit him with an uppercut if I hadn't met him before but that's my boy now since I shook his hand he's a cool dude."

Arizona quaterback B.J Denker says "We feel like our running back is better and we feel like the nation kind of made a mistake and so we are going to come out here I know Ka'Deem is hungry as a teammate and a brother I would love for him to out shine him and get a victory kind of two victories in one."

Carey responded "That's my quarterback he's suppose to say that but at the same time I think he's right when you say running back I think I'm the best running back and I think he's the best fullback."

Boston College will again look to lean on its workhouse back on Tuesday.  Williams led the nation in rushing this season with over 2,000 yards and when it comes to Carey, Williams simply says "He's just a very different running back. I actually got the opportunity to meet him in Orlando. His personality, he's just a really energetic guy and it shows on the field. He runs really hard and he's a really great running back."

Meanwhile, preparations in and outside the Independence Stadium are just about complete. The paint on the new Advocare V100 Bowl logo was still drying on the field as of Saturday afternoon.

Kickoff is at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
