SPD investigating home invasion, shooting in Cherokee Park

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport man is recovering after he was shot while he was inside his apartment in the Cherokee Park neighborhood Sunday night.

Police say they were called to the Northwood Apartments in the 100 block of Ute Trail at 11:23 p.m., where they found 46-year-old Lonnie Hamilton suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the shoulder.

Hamilton reportedly told police that two men barged into his apartment and shot him in the arm. He was taken to University Health Shreveport with non-life threatening injuries.

So far, no arrests have been made. Police have not released a description of the men who allegedly attacked him.
