SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A pair of party organizers are behind bars, facing multiple charges in connection with a shooting injured one of them last week and led police to an illegal dance hall.

Back on December 14, 2013, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to reports of a man shot in the 1900 block of Texas Avenue.

That's where they learned that 31-year-old Alvin Lattier of Shreveport had suffered a grazing wound to the neck following an alleged brawl that occurred at a party held at an automotive complex being used as an illegal dance hall.

Police say a continuing investigation into the incident revealed that alcohol was being served at the party where the shooting happened, all while minors as young as 15 years of age were present.

Shreveport Police Vice Agents arrested  Alvin Lattier on Friday, after it was learned it was he who leased the building where the party was held.

Also arrested was 32-year-old Ivory Collins, who was the alleged promoter and DJ for the event.  Police say both men have been charged with letting a disorderly place and dance hall permit required.

Both Lattier and Collins were booked into the Shreveport City Jail.  The investigation into the shooting remains underway as authorities are still seeking the identity and whereabouts of the shooter.
