I-20 westbound just west of I-220 in Bossier City is back open after a wreck involving two 18-wheelers shut it down Wednesday afternoon just before 1 p.m.
Traffic on Interstate 20 was being detoured onto Interstate 220 while police and fire personnel worked the scene and cleared the wreck. That was completed just before 5 p.m. and the road was reopened to traffic.
Police say the crash happened when a westbound tractor trailer rear ended a tanker truck in the outside lane. The driver of the tractor trailer rig had to be extricated from the truck's cab by fire department personnel, but he is said to have suffered only minor injuries and refused to be taken to a hospital.
The driver of the tanker truck was not hurt. His passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
