SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police have identified the man arrested in the shooting late Monday night in Mooretown that left another man injured.

Officers were called just before midnight to the 4300 block of St. Louis Avenue for a report of a shooting. There, they found Sir'Darren Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to University Health, where he was treated and released.

Witnesses described a white pickup truck believed to have been involved in the shooting. A short time later, officers spotted a pickup truck matching that description less than a mile away on Jewella Ave. at Oakcrest St., just north of Greenwood Rd. Two men in the truck were taken into custody, and police say an SKS rifle was also recovered from the truck.

Police say they gathered information that suggested a fight between Jackson and one of the occupants of the truck, 35-year-old David King of the 4300 block of St. Louis Ave. During the fight, King allegedly pulled out a handgun, which discharged as the two struggled over the weapon.

King is charged with a single count of illegal use of a weapon and booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
