NEW ORLEANS, LA (KSLA) -

Parkway quarterback Brandon Harris squatted on the sidelines with tears streaming down his face as he watched the final minute of Parkway's defeat to Acadiana in the 5A state championship game Saturday night.

The Panthers fell 77-41 in the title game suffering their first loss of the season.

"We won 13 games, setting a record for most wins at Parkway," said David Feaster, Parkway head coach. "This loss doesn't define our season."

The Panthers were down quickly in the first quarter, 21-0, before finally finding a spark on offense. William McKnight score a touchdown to make it a 21-7 game and followed that up with a 93-yard kickoff return. McKnight finished with 290 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns being named the Most Outstanding Player of the game.

Parkway graduated 35 seniors. During the post-game trophy presentation some of Parkway's younger players suggested they would be back next year in the Dome for another historic year.
