A dog who suffered third-degree burns at the hands of a 12-year-old boy is celebrating Christmas in her hometown.
Amazing Grace returned to Many, Louisiana Saturday for the town's Christmas Parade. The dog was one of three honorary marshals for the parade.
Back in June, Amazing Grace was burned by the boy when he dumped scalding water on her back.
Fully recovered, she spends her days in Illinois leading a brand new life. The dog goes with fire departments to schools to teach children about the dangers of fires. She also does anti-bullying training in schools.
Grace is also spending her days training to visit hospitals to help comfort kids and adults who have been burned.
Amazing Grace also has a Facebook page. Her handlers use it to let everyone know what she will be doing and when she will be available for school and hospital visits.
