Blanchard couple arrested for felony theft

BLANCHARD, LA (KSLA) -

A Blanchard couple is facing charges for allegedly stealing from the estate of the woman's deceased father.

Teresa Brumley, 52, and Charles Brumley, 56, of the 7000 block of Millwood Drive, are accused of stealing more than $170,000.  According to the Caddo Sheriff's Office, the two were able to misappropriate more than $60,000 while the father was alive and committed forgeries and other acts of fraud to get more than $100,000 after his death.  The money was earmarked for the Estate, Detective Bobby Herring said.

Teresa Brumley was also accused of stealing $12,000 from her mother, who has lived in a nursing home since 2009.

Arrest warrants for felony theft were issued for the Brumleys.  Teresa Brumley was taken into custody at her home Thursday afternoon.  She was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center with bond set at $10,000.

Charles Brumley surrendered Thursday evening.  He was also booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.  His bond is also set at $10,000.
