SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A public memorial is set for the Bossier Parish woman whose remains found in northern Webster Parish last month.

Police say Ann, known to friends and family as Annie, was killed by her estranged husband Robbie Bond, 53. He remains under armed guard at a Mississippi hospital, charged with her murder. Police say he shot himself as police approached his truck at a rest stop near Gauthier, MS the morning after she was reported missing. According to Bossier Sheriff's Office Lt. Bill Davis, Bond has not yet made any statements to investigators. His transfer back to Bossier Parish depends upon when he becomes well enough to be discharged from the hospital, and whether he chooses to waive extradition.

Funeral arrangements for Annie Bond have not yet been set, as the family awaits the return of her remains from the LSU FACES Lab in Baton Rouge. Investigators are working to determine the cause of her death.

In the meantime, the desire to celebrate Annie Bond's life before Christmas led to the decision to hold memorial for her that will be open to the public.

Ann Johnson Bond's Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Grace Community Methodist Church, 9400 Ellerbe Road in Shreveport.

According to information provided by her family, "All are welcome and invited to attend as we sing, worship and give thanks for her in our lives."

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either of Annie's favorite organizations in her name.
