KSLA News 12 Editorial: Dec. 9th-KSLA Holiday Food Drive

Mark your calendar for this Wednesday. All day Wednesday, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., KSLA News 12, with your help, will collect food for ArkLaTex food banks.

The KSLA Holiday Food Drive is a one day, all out push to stock the shelves of food banks in our communities. We are working with the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, the Food Bank of Central Louisiana, the East Texas Food Bank and Harvest Food Bank of Texarkana.

Here are the drop off locations:

  •  KSLA News 12 studios, 1812 Fairfield Avenue, Shreveport
  •  Word of God Ministries, 6645 W. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport
  •  John Harvey Toyota, 2901 Benton Road, Bossier City
  •  Legacy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 1798 Highway 3175, Natchitoches
  •  Marshall Mobile Homes, 4811 East End Boulevard, Highway 59 South, Marshall
  •  Classic Auto Park, 4330 Mall Drive, Texarkana

We will be live Wednesday at these locations. We are hoping people will come by, drop off a canned food item or two and say hello to our team. So while you're thinking about it, get up and go to your pantry and see what you have to donate. Or, make a list for when you are at the store. We're looking for non-perishable items like cereal, canned goods, coffee, sugar, peanut butter, juice and things like that.

It's a great way to give back this Christmas season. Helping your neighbors in need.

See you Wednesday. I'm James Smith.
