SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Vandals have struck a church in West Shreveport, tearing up a pair of air conditioning units.

Church leaders at New Vision Community Church in the 700 block of Flournoy Lucas Road say nothing appears to have been taken, but someone ripped the units right off the foundations and destroyed them.

It happened sometime in the afternoon on Monday.

Pastor Ronnie Hampton says one of the new units was brand new, the other less than a year old. Hampton says some evidence was left at the scene, which has been turned over to police. If the intent was to gut the units for copper and other parts, Hampton says the newer units aren't made with as much of those materials anymore.

Whatever the motive, the vandals did hundreds of dollars in damage.

Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest can call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.

New Vision just opened with a dedication service 2 weeks ago and held its first service on Sunday.
