ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Radric Davis, more commonly known as Gucci Mane, has been charged in federal court with two separate counts of possessing a firearm while being a felon.

Davis, 33, of Atlanta, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Nov. 19.

According to United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates, on Sept. 12, Davis, who was a felon at the time, was found in possession of a firearm. Two days later he was found to have another gun.

On both occasions, Davis acted erratically, according to Yates.

"The indictment charges that on two separate occasions, this defendant, a convicted felon, threatened individuals, including the police and his attorney with a gun," said Yates. "This is how people get hurt, and we are committed to ensuring that convicted felons do not have guns."

Each charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
