BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

A Bossier City teenager was arrested overnight after he shot and tried to rob another teen.

Bossier City Police officers were called to the intersection of Traffic and Wyche Streets around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night.

Laterreon Morrison, 17, was arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated battery, police said.

The 16-year-old victim told police he was walking with his brother when he was approached by three other males.  One of the males, later identified as Morrison, tried to rob him.  When the two brothers ran away, Morrison fired several shots at them, striking the victim in the shoulder.  His injuries appeared to be non-life threatening, police said.

Detectives coordinated their efforts with the Armed Robbery Task Force and were able to tab Morrison as the suspect.

Morrison was taken into custody several hours and booked into the Bossier City Jail.  He was later transferred to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility.

The name of the 16-year-old victim was not released because he is a juvenile.
