BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Two people have been arrested in connection with a carjacking last week in Bossier City.

Police say the carjacking happened around 4:30 a.m. at the Circle K on Barksdale Boulevard at Hamilton Road. The victims told police that they were there pumping gas when a man and a woman asked them for a ride, which they agreed to do. But the victims say that as they headed north on Hamilton Road near the intersection of East Texas Street, the woman pulled out a handgun and robbed them of their car, a 2012 Hyundai Elantra, along with an undisclosed amount of cash and two cell phones. The man and woman then drove off in the stolen car.

Bossier City police and Bossier Crime Stoppers asked the public for help with identifying and locating the two suspects, and they say tips provided enough information to get arrest warrants for 46-year-old Noel Wayne Smith of Praireville, Louisiana and 46-year-old Tamara M. Amo.

Smith was arrested in Bossier City on Friday in Bossier City. Amo was picked up the same day by authorities in Lafayette, Louisiana after Bossier City detectives learned of her location. Both are charged with armed robbery. Arrangements are being made to extradite Amo back to Bossier City.

Police say the stolen vehicle was also recovered in Shreveport.
