Traffic Alert: I-49 South shut down after crash

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

I-49 Southbound just north of Kings Highway exit is shut down after a crash. Right now, police are working to clear the scene.

Shreveport police say it happened around 8 a.m. Officials say a car rear-ended a trailer connected to a pickup truck. The impact caused the truck to fishtail and hit a barrier wall. Police say one person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At this point, police are diverting traffic onto Kings Highway. Police say drivers should avoid the area if possible.
