A man has died of his injuries after an exchange of gunfire with deputies in rural Sabine Parish last month.
The shootout happened outside a home on Highway 482 in Ebarb, Louisiana Saturday, November 16th.
The incident began when someone called 911 about a man who was threatening himself and others with a shotgun, Sabine Sheriff spokesman Joe Dewill said.
Michael Malway, 27, of Noble, allegedly threatened two Sabine Parish deputies and a state trooper when they arrived on the scene. That led to an exchange of gunfire between the 3 law enforcement officers and Malway, Dewill said.
Malway was rushed to University Health in Shreveport. He was listed in critical condition as of Sunday, November 17th but died of his injuries on Thursday, December 12th.
The shooting is still under investigation by the Sabine Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State Police.
