BOSSIER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office is expected to hold a news conference at 2 p.m. with an update on the investigation into the disappearance of Ann Bond.

Her estranged husband, 53-year-old Robert Bond, is in a Mississippi hospital after police say he shot himself as officers knocked on the window of his truck at a rest stop along I-10 near Gautier.

He is expected to survive. A warrant for his arrest on a charge of second degree murder was issued shortly before he was taken into custody early Friday morning.

Police have been searching for Ann Bond since she didn't show up for work on Thursday morning. Her car was found in the garage of her Wemple Road home. Police cite witness statements and physical evidence found at the home as reasons for issuing the warrant for Robert Bond.

KSLA News 12 will stream that news conference live on ksla.com and on the KSLA News 12 mobile apps. Click here for more details.
