Police have arrested a trio of local teens in connection with breaking into a vehicle early Wednesday morning in Shreveport's South Highlands neighborhood.
Around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, Shreveport Police Officer Jonathan Varnell saw a male suspect holding a tote bag standing near a vehicle with its door open in the 500 block of Dudley Drive. When Officer Varnell confronted the man, he immediately fled on foot in an apparent attempt to elude police. Following a brief foot pursuit, the suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Jacody Wilson, was taken into custody. Items were recovered that police believe were taken from the vehicle there on Dudley Drive.
Moments later and a few blocks away, assisting patrolmen located 18-year-old Fabian Alexander and 18-year-old Kentravious Hardison. The men were detained and officers, upon further investigation, discovered evidence indicating that both Anderson and Hardison were involved in the crime as well.
Police say detectives are still trying to determine if the teenagers are responsible for any other similar crimes in the area.
Wilson, of the 1200 block of Crofton Street, Anderson, of the 2900 block of Samford Avenue and Hardison, of the 9200 block of Davy Drive, were all booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of simple burglary each.
