HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The coldest air of the fall is moving in Tuesday and will make it feel more like January than November.

Temperatures will drop into the upper 30s by midday and only recover into the low 40s Tuesday afternoon.

Not only is it getting colder, it's also going to be a very windy day. A north wind around 15-25mph gusting to near 30 at times has prompted a Wind Advisory until 4 p.m.

The gusty wind will make it feel like it's in the upper 20s Tuesday afternoon. If you haven't gotten the winter coat out yet, today is a day you'll need it.

Temperatures will continue to drop Tuesday night with lows in the mid 20s. Wind chills will be in the upper teens.

Sunshine returns Wednesday, but we'll still only be in the 40s for highs. After another cold night in the 20s Wednesday night, temperatures will begin to rebound as we head toward the weekend.

The WAFF 48 Storm Team will keep you updated on this first arctic blast of the season on-air, online at WAFF.com and on our mobile app.
