KSLA News 12 Editorial: Nov. 11th-Thanks to our Veterans

This week we celebrate Veterans Day.

It's a day set aside to honor veterans who served in the military during war time or peace time. I think every day should be Veterans Day.

Too often we take our veterans for granted. Many of them spend weeks, if not years, away from their families and loved ones. This personal sacrifice often includes war time injuries our veterans have to live with the rest of their lives. The ArkLaTex is a special place and one reason is because of the large number of veterans that call our communities home.

They are your next door neighbor, your little league coach or a United Way volunteer.

So as Veterans Day comes around every year, let's make that our reminder to thank and appreciate our veterans all the time.

I'm James Smith.

I hope we are all teaching our kids to be respectful of others, to hold doors open, to say please, thank you, yes ma'am and yes sir. We don't need to expect anything in return, just be proud that you were brought up right.I hope we are all teaching our kids to be respectful of others, to hold doors open, to say please, thank you, yes ma'am and yes sir. We don't need to expect anything in return, just be proud that you were brought up right.

There may be no clear right way or a wrong way to handle a school shooting. At least in Maryland, where an armed school resource officer did his job, is an example of a better way, says Joe Sciortino, vice president and general manager of KSLA News 12.There may be no clear right way or a wrong way to handle a school shooting. Once again, we have a school shooting. This time, in Maryland, an armed school resource officer did his job. He jumped into action and engaged the shooter, who died at the scene. ... I would hope the number of armed school officers is growing.
