Veterans Day is Monday, November 11, 2013, and restaurants around the ArkLaTex are offering special freebies and deals to honor those that have served, or are currently serving, in our military.

Most offers require proof of service, which can be anything from a service ID card, earnings statement, certificate of discharge, or simply being in uniform to receive the deal.

Veterans can choose a free meal from a special Veteran's Day menu. Proof of service is required.

Wendys offers free sausage biscuit to veterans
6 a.m. - 10 a.m.
This Veteran's Day, Wendy's would like to give thanks to the men and women who have bravely served our country. Wendy's invites all veterans and active military personnel to receive a FREE Sausage Biscuit on Veteran's Day. On November 11 from 6am – 10am, visit your local Shreveport, Bossier City, Minden and Hope, AR area Wendy's restaurants, show your military ID and enjoy a FREE Sausage Biscuit.

Free buffet: Horseshoe and Harrah's Louisiana Downs
Time: 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Horseshoe and Harrah's invites all veterans and active-duty personnel with a military I.D. to enjoy a complimentary meal at The Spread and The Buffet on Monday, November 11. The Spread is located in Horseshoe across from CMT bar and dining hours are from 11am-9pm. The Buffet is located at Harrah's Louisiana Downs across from the Inside Rail and hours are from 11am-10pm. To all of our Veterans, we say Thank You. This Meal is on us!                 

Free lunch: Texas Roadhouse, 1005A Gould Dr., Bossier City, LA     
Time: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Veterans and active members of U.S. military are invited to enjoy FREE lunch on Monday, November 11 at every Texas Roadhouse location across the country to honor the men and women of our armed forces.
All veterans - including all active, retired or former U.S. military -  can choose one of 10 entrees, including a 6-ounce sirloin and two made-from-scratch sides plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet tea/ice tea or coffee during lunch. Proof of service includes military or VA card, or discharge papers.
In celebration of Veterans Day, the public is also invited to enjoy a free download of the song "Pride of America" by Nashville recording   artist, Ayla Brown. Beginning Monday, November, 11, the song will be available for download at www.texasroadhouse.com.

Free haircuts: Mane Cuts
Time: 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Valid military ID card or any proof of military service is required.  

Chili's hosts 'Give Back Event' Nov. 10, free entrees to veterans/active military personnel Nov. 11
In honor of Veterans Day, Chili's® Grill & Bar is making it easy for guests to salute all those who selflessly serve our country. On Sunday, Nov. 10, all Chili's restaurants nationwide will host a ‘Give Back Event' to raise money for Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors.
To show their appreciation for servicemen and women, guests just need to mention the fundraiser to their server when dining anytime Sunday, Nov. 10 and, in return, Chili's will donate 10 percent of the check's net sales to WWP.
In addition to the Give Back Event, Chili's will also continue the Veterans Day tradition of offering free entrees to veterans and active military personnel dining at any of Chili's more than 1,200 restaurants nationwide Monday, Nov. 11.

Margaritaville Resort Casino offers Buy One, Get One Free Buffet for veterans
Margaritaville Resort Casino will honor veterans with a Buy One, Get One Free Buffet Offer on Monday, November 11.
The Veterans Day BOGO Buffet will be offered at the World Tour Buffet for breakfast or dinner between 7am – 11am and 4pm – 10pm.
A Veterans card or valid Military ID must be presented at time of purchase; limit one per person, gratuity not included.

On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina® all veterans and active duty military free "Create Your Own Combo menu," the restaurant's best-seller featuring more than 150 possible dinner combinations, on Monday, November 11, 2013.
 
In addition, On The Border will extend its giving with a give-back event on Veterans Day at participating locations benefiting CARRY THE LOAD, a non-profit organization that is restoring the meaning of Memorial Day by assisting and honoring our fallen heroes, veterans, active duty military, firefighters, law enforcement and rescue personnel, and their families. OTB will donate 15 percent of all eligible sales on Veterans Day from guests who bring in a give-back flyer.
             
To receive the free meal, guests will need to provide proof of military service, which include U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, DD214, Citation or Commendation.

Denny's restaurants will offer all-you-can-eat pancakes to veterans with proof of service, from discharge papers to government ID, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

JCPenney is celebrating Veteran's Day by giving those who have served our country a 20 percent military discount.
On November 9th and 10th, veterans and their families can go online and print out the coupon to get the discount at any JCPenney store in the country.
The coupon is good for clothes, home furnishings, and accessories. The coupon will expire Tuesday.
