HOPEWELL, VA (WWBT) -

Hopewell Fire crews will not be going back into the water at City Point Friday to search for someone possibly missing in the water.

Chesterfield and Hopewell Fire responded to a call for a water rescue at City Point around 6 p.m. Thursday, near where the James and Appomattox meet, but were unable to find anyone in the water.

A neighbor at the scene said crews called off the search Thursday night, because it was too dark. Hopewell Fire's Chief says they will resume the search if there are any additional reports or sightings.
