A Shreveport man is charged with cruelty to animals, accused of shooting and killing his neighbor's poodle.
Police say it happened around 4 p.m. on Saturday. A 10-year-old girl was playing with the poodle in her front yard when it got loose and wound up on the property of 75-year-old Clarence Dunivan.
Police say Dunivan approached the dog in his yard, knelt down and shot it a small-caliber handgun.
Dunivan was booked in the Shreveport City Jail on a felony charge of aggravated cruelty to animals.
