BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Parents and supporters from Parkway High School in Bossier Parish voiced their frustrations to their state representative about the football program's punishment following last year's playoff turmoil.

Dozens showed up to a Bossier City meeting Monday to ask what can be done to change the situation.

The 8-0 Panthers are not allowed to host a playoff game this season after an incident at a playoff game last season where Live Oaks coach Barry "Tut" Musemeche was handcuffed and taken off the field, after refusing to remove his team from pre-game warmups at Parkway principal Nichole Bourgeois' request.

Bourgeois later said she had Musemeche removed for not sticking to what she said was Parkway's pre-game itinerary.

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association punished Parkway by taking away the team's ability to host a home playoff game.

That was the wrong answer, according to Sen. Barrow Peacock (R) Dist. 37. "Right now, the state high school athletic association is punishing the victim and not the bully, and that's wrong, and we are not sending the right message to our students by doing what they're doing, and I'm going to make calls and I'm going to tell them, they need to look at what they're doing. What kind of example are they setting for our student athletes?"

Live Oak High School is located in Livingston Parish near Baton Rouge. Musemeche later filed suit against Bourgeois, the Bossier City Police Department and the parish's school system over the incident, a claim he made in order to restore his reputation after it was tarnished by the incident.
