2 arrested after shot fired outside State Fair of Louisiana
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Two juveniles have been arrested after shots were fired in a parking lot Saturday night near the State Fair of Louisiana.
Information initially provided by Shreveport police and reported by KSLA News 12 indicated the shooting happened on the fairgrounds. However, additional information from the Shreveport Police Department has clarified that the incident happened in the parking lot in front of Cash America Pawn on Jewella Avenue.
Police now say it's not clear whether the shots were fired as the result of a scuffle in that parking lot or if it was for some other reason. Officers responded and attempted to stop a car at Greenwood and Jewella with people inside that were believed to have been involved. 1 juvenile reportedly ran from the car, but was arrested along with another juvenile.
They are charged with illegal use of a weapon and drug possession.
It happened just after 11 p.m. No one was hurt.
2 weapons were recovered from the car after the arrests. No names have been released yet.
