KISSIMMEE, FL (CENTRAL FLORIDA NEWS 13/OSCEOLA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE/CNN) –A police sting operation caught a Florida mother allegedly forcing her teenage daughters to work as prostitutes.
Paula Howard, 50, was arrested on a number of charged including child abuse and deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution when, according to the sheriff's records, she had her three daughters approach them for sexual favors.
"It's certainly not common and as soon as the deputies found out about this they aggressively worked this case they put together the special operation in order to arrest the mother," said Twis Lizasuain of the Osceola County, FL sheriff's office.
According to the sheriff's department, undercover officers pulled up to a bus stop on Thursday afternoon when Paula Howard sent her eldest daughter to approach them.
"She motioned for her daughter to come over to the deputy. The daughter went over to the deputy and told him she would exchange money for sexual acts," Lizasuain said.
Samantha Howard, 18, left with the officer and was arrested for prostitution, but the sting didn't stop there.
"The mother saw another man at the same bus stop and told her second daughter to approach the deputy and the same incident happened," Lizasuain said.
Paula Howard‘s 17 and 16-year old daughters were taken into protective custody because of their ages.
Officers say the mother admitted to using drugs often with her daughters. It also does not appear that the women have a permanent residence in the Kissimmee, FL area.
Paula Howard is being held on a $36,000 bond.
