According to the Texas Medical Board, 53-year-old Gregory Scott Terrell, a Tyler physician, has now had his medical license suspended. In the terms of Terrell's suspension, the Texas Medical Board states that he wrote false prescriptions for dangerous drugs or controlled substances.

Department of Public Safety officials and the Drug Enforcement Administration arrested Terrell after raiding his office July 31. He was taken into custody for diversion of a controlled substance. His office manager, 48-year-old Melissa York, was also arrested on charges of fraudulent possession of a controlled substance by forgery.

Terrell's medical license is suspended until he appears before the Texas Medical Board and is able to provide evidence that he is competent to practice medicine again.

Terrell has had a license with the Texas Medical Board since November 1996. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1986.
