Floodwaters are receding in Sabine Parish, as kids enjoyed a day off from school following storms that brought heavy rain overnight.
"My camper was actually parked over here, you can barely see the jacks coming out the water going in the back side, in my bedroom in the camper the floor is wet so it will need some repairs" Sondra Green says. The Green's hauled the camper to higher ground.
"The water basically looked like a creek, like a river or something; it was flooded, all the way up to the steps. We couldn't get in, no vehicles could get out" Jessica Tolley says. The pond in the back and the caddy corner creek filled up, connected, and created what looked like a lake in their front yards.
All Sabine public schools were closed Thursday due to the flooding, as well as the Sabine Valley location at the Northwest Louisiana Technical College in Many.
While the waters rose rather quickly, little major damage has been reported.
