A power outage planned for AEP SWEPCO customers in Shreveport's Springlake neighborhood on Thursday has been delayed due to weather.
Customers in that area reported receiving automated calls on Wednesday from the utility company, advising them that the power would be cut Thursday morning at 7 a.m. and that the outage is expected to last 8 hours.
Crews needed that much time to transfer electrical equipment to a new pole on E. Wilderness Way. About 300 customers will be affected.
However, those plans were postponed by storms and heavy rain overnight into Thursday.
Spokesperson Peter Main says the outage will be rescheduled for next week, and customers will once again be notified through the automated phone service.
