After a stunning victory over the Missouri Tigers in double overtime, the Southeastern Conference is recognizing three of South Carolina's playmakers as their Players of the Week.
Not that it shouldn't surprise anyone after his come-off-the-bench, 201 yards passing and three touchdown performance, but quarterback Connor Shaw is the SEC's Offensive Player of the Week.
Shaw has been nursing a knee injury after the loss at Tennessee, but Spurrier called upon him in the third quarter of the Missouri game.
Shaw went on to engineer a miraculous comeback that secured the victory for the Gamecocks.
But it wasn't all Shaw.
The SEC has also awarded kicker Elliot Fry with Special Teams Player of the Week.
Although Fry missed one field goal in the game, he more than made up for it with two crucial late game field goals, including the one that finally gave South Carolina the lead in overtime.
Even the defensive side of the ball got a nod from the league as Kelcy Quarles was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Quarles was credited with six tackles, three tackles for loss and a pair of sacks.
The Gamecocks return to Columbia this week to face Mississippi State. That game kicks off at 12:21 p.m.
