CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

The Caddo Parish School Board interviewed a third and final candidate for superintendent on Thursday.

Timothy Magner is currently the director of training for the LSU Health System in Shreveport.

Magner says he chose Caddo as his home, and he says he wants to be a part of making the schools a better place to learn. "I choose to make Shreveport my home and I choose to send my kids to school here in Caddo Parish, in public school. I think that gives me an added sense of investment."

Magner says he wants to expand career teaching in high school and middle schools. He has had more than 20 years of experience working in education. Magner says the board would have to reallocate some resources to live within the school's budget. He says his goal is to make every Caddo Parish school a school that parents would choose to send their kids to.

The board interviewed Theodis Goree on Tuesday. Goree is currently serving as Area Superintendent of Mansfield, TX ISD. Terrance Brown, currently serving as Southeast Regional Superintendent of Memphis City Schools, was interviewed on Wednesday.

The board will meet to vote on their selection for superintendent on Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
