KSLA News 12 Editorial: Oct. 24th-Diversity Works

If you are an employer looking for someone to hire or if you are someone with a disability looking for work, there's an upcoming event that will get the two of you together.

It's the Diversity Works Job Fair. The idea is to connect job ready individuals with disabilities with local employers looking to hire.

Last year, the job fair in Louisiana helped almost 100 people gain employment. The reality is people with disabilities have the education, training and experience to be successful in the workplace. And if you hire a disabled worker, there are tax benefits.

The Diversity Works Job Fair will be held October 30th at the Bossier Civic Center. For detailed information you can go the this website, laworks.net or call 318-629-5976.

I'm James Smith.

State Police Supt. Col. Mike Edmonson needs to address this inexcusable behavior directly and restore the public's confidence. He should be fully transparent in his investigation into the matter and should invite an outside entity to look into the matter.
