BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

A major intersection in Bossier City has reopened after a gas line leak shut it down Friday afternoon.

According to Public Information Officer Mark Natale, Bossier City police and fire crews were called to the scene of a break in a 2-inch gas line in the 2800 block of Old Minden Road around 3 p.m.

Natale says the line was accidentally broken by a construction crew working in the area. As a precaution, Old Minden Road was temporarily closed to motor vehicle traffic from Airline Drive to Waller Avenue.

An insurance office near the gas line break was also evacuated as a precaution. Centerpoint Energy was on scene and worked to plug the leak.
