DOYLINE, LA (KSLA) -
A Doyline man is in the hospital and is expected to face charges, after Webster Parish deputies were forced to shoot him in the leg Friday night.
Deputies were called to a home in the 700 block of Carter Rd. around 6:30 p.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance.
The man, identified as 45-year-old Burt Houston, had reportedly struck a woman, and she went to her mother's house nearby and called police.
When officers arrived, the told the Houston to come out of the home. When he did, he came out with a compound bow and pointed it at the officers. Webster Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton days they ordered him to put it down and he refused. He was shot once in the leg.
Houston was airlifted to University Hospital in Shreveport, where he is expected to recover. He has not yet been charged, but Sexton says that is expected and may happen before he is released from the hospital.
Sexton says the officer who fired the shot is on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
