Boys, move over! Girl power takes over Bossier Little League

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

On the heels of the Bossier Little League's 11-12 year old all star team's run for the Little League World Series, a future all star is playing on two fields of dreams at the same time.

You could likely find 7 year old Baylee Blackburn at the Bossier Little League ballpark almost every night of the week. That's because she's playing on two teams at once; a boys baseball team and a girl's softball team.

"Softball is kinda boring," says Baylee who we stopped to interview while running from her baseball practice to her softball game on the other side of the ballpark.

"I'm really proud of her. She tries hard and does really well," says her mother, Stephanie, who is also her softball coach.

"All she wanted to do was play baseball with the boys. So the only way I could get her to play softball was if I let her play baseball, too."

Baylee has played just about every position on the both fields. And with the helmet on, you would hardly realize a girl is playing on an all-boys team - until you notice her pony tail sticking out of the back of her helmet.

"As long as she continues to love the game, she can keep on playing," adds her mother.
