Woman raped in Nashville home invasion

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police are searching for a suspect after a violent home invasion Tuesday evening just east of downtown.

Officers were called about 5:15 p.m. to the 700 block of Spence Enclave Lane, near Lebanon Road.

The 32-year-old victim said she was leaving for work when the man opened her front door and forced his way in.

Police say the intruder raped the woman at gunpoint, robbed her and stole her SUV.

The SUV was found Wednesday morning parked near Ed Temple Boulevard and Clarksville Pike.

Police have not released a description of the suspect but say they are "pursuing meaningful leads" toward identifying him.
