Hebron man charged with rape at wedding reception

BURLINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

A Hebron, Ky. man has been arrested following a rape that occurred at a wedding reception in a Burlington home.

Police say that Brit Evans, 32, of Sugarberry Drive was charged with rape on Tuesday. Officers say that the initial incident happened on August 24.

Officers say that Evans went to a bedroom where the victim was sleeping and proceeded to engage in sexual intercourse with her. Authorities say when the victim awoke, Evans dressed and left the room.

Evans is currently being held in the Boone County Detention Center.

Officers say that first degree rape is a felony punishable by 10 to 20 years in state penitentiary.
