NPSO seeks suspect in deadly shooting

CAMPTI, LA (KSLA) -

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Detectives are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a home invasion and homicide in North Natchitoches Parish late Sunday night. 

The NPSO 911 Center took a call just before midnight Sunday reporting a home invasion, at 233 Willie Walker Road in Creston. Officers arrived to find 37-year-old Ted Charles Brou shot to death.

Brou was pronounced dead at the scene by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner's Office.

Deputies say than an All Points Bulletin has been issued for a suspect in the case,  identified as Alan Virgil Brumfield, W/M,  Age: 48, Hgt/510, Wgt/150, Hair/Partially Gray, Eyes/Hazel, of Natchitoches.

Brumfield is wanted by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office for first degree murder, home invasion and second degree kidnapping.

Brumfield is believed to driving a blue Nissan Sentra, Hertz rental car, bearing Florida License# 386LYE.

According to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr., Brumfield has prior criminal history of aggravated Battery in Florida, and false imprisonment with a dangerous weapon in Louisiana. Brumfield is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Detectives ask that if you see Brumfield,  do not approach him, but contact your nearest law enforcement agency immediately, the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division at 318-357-7832/357-7830 or the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office at 318-352-6432.

Detectives are not releasing any other details at this time.

The Natchitoches Parish District Attorney's Office is also assisting in the investigation.
