SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A man is behind bars after he allegedly broke into two West Shreveport homes and stole several items Tuesday morning.

Shreveport police say just after 8:30 a.m. they received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked near a home in the 4000 block of Doris street. Witnesses say two people backed the car into a driveway and loaded a television into it. Police say a witness was able to get the car's license plate number.

Shortly after receiving the suspicious vehicle report, police say they responded to a burglary at a home just a block away in the 4000 block of Theo Street. Police later found the car from the initial report parked at a home in the 3800 block of Doris Street. Police were allowed to enter the home and found 18-year-old Lloyd Ivory hiding inside a closet.

Ivory was taken into custody without incident. Officers say they found stolen property inside the car where Ivory was hiding. Other items were found on Ivory at the time of his arrest.

Ivory was charged with burglary of an inhabited dwelling. Police expect to make more arrests in this case.
