(KETV/CNN) - He won an ESPY award, met the president and won the hearts of many Americans after his 69-yard touchdown run during the Husker's spring game.
And the best news of all: 8-year-old Nebraska football fan Jack Hoffman appears to be winning the fight against brain cancer.
Jack's family says his cancer is in remission after 60 weeks of chemotherapy treatments.
"The thing doctors have warned us about is that even though his residual tumor is stable, the reality is that half of kids with Jack's illness relapse in the future," his dad Andy Hoffman told HLN.
"We are incredible thankful. But it's one of those things where you can't let your guard down."
Team Jack will continue raising funds for pediatric brain cancer research at his website, www.teamjackfoundation.org.
