SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Two Shreveport men are behind bars, accused of holding up and assaulting three people at gunpoint last week in east Shreveport.

Police say they were called to an apartment complex in the 8000 block of Line Avenue just before 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 28 for a report of a robbery. The victims say they were standing outside an apartment building there when they were approached by 2 armed men who robbed them of their valuables and hit them with the weapons before running away.

Neither victim was seriously injured.

Acting on a tip received through Cadd-Shreveport Crime Stoppers, investigators say they were able to link 21-year-old Robert Chalmers and 17-year-old Demitri Thomas to the crime.

Police say the two were taken into custody by Shreveport Police on October 1, 2013 and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on an unrelated criminal matter. During the course of the ongoing investigation, authorities gathered additional evidence linking the Chalmers, Thomas duo to the armed robbery of the three men at the apartment complex.

Chalmers and Thomas now face three counts each of armed robbery.  Both men are currently housed in the Shreveport City Jail.
