ArkLaTex National Night Out events

Neighborhoods in the ArkLaTex are hosting National Night Out on Tuesday to promote crime and drug awareness along with strengthening partnerships among neighborhoods and police.

On Tuesday, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., residents are asked to lock their doors, turn on our porch lights and spend the evening outside with family, friends, fellow neighbors, emergency response personnel and city officials.

Many neighborhoods throughout the ArkLaTex will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and anti-crime rallies.

In keeping with the spirit of the Shreveport's Night Out Against Crime theme, "Give Crime and Drugs a Going Away Party", the Shreveport Police Department and Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office strongly encourage your Night Out event be alcohol free.

Block parties may run from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and all parties must shut down by than 9 p.m. We are asking all parties cooperate with the time frame designated for Night Out so that the event will be a positive one for all citizens not just those holding block parties. Officers will be monitoring parties to assure that all parties are over by the time specified.
