BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

A man wanted by Bossier City police for attempting to rob a woman at knifepoint has been arrested in Texas.

21-year-old Jose Emmanuel Urista Martinez was arrested in Seguin, Texas Wednesday for attempted armed robbery for trying to rob a woman on September 14, 2013 as she got into her car to leave the parking lot of Harrah's Louisiana Downs.

During the confrontation, police say Martinez pushed the woman down in the front seat of her car and demanded money from her. The victim suffered cuts to her hands and chest as she attempted to take away the knife that Martinez was holding at the time.

The man then fled the scene on foot after not taking anything from the victim, who was later taken to a local hospital by Bossier City Fire Department personnel to have her wounds treated.

Martinez worked for a third party contractor in the racetrack's stable area and was not an employee of Harrah's Louisiana Downs. Efforts are being made to extradite him to Bossier City.
