A man accused in the 2012 death of a DeQuincy woman was indicted Thursday in 14th Judicial District Court.

The suspect, 53-year-old Leo Paul Thibodeaux Jr., faces a charge of second-degree murder in the death of 37-year-old Toni Mari Frabbiele.

Frabbiele was found shot to death in March 2012.

Authorities said at 3 a.m. March 28, 2012, deputies were called to Thibodeaux's home regarding a woman, later identified as Frabbiele, lying on the floor of the bedroom unresponsive.

Frabbiele was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.

A statement provided by Thibodeaux to detectives indicated Frabbiele committed suicide in his presence, authorities said.

Authorities said detectives questioned Thibodeaux ‘s account of the incident but lacked any evidence at that time to substantiate he was involved in her death.

He was arrested in August in the case following further investigation.
